Discovering The Meaning of Life - Part 2

2/6/2026

Picture
In Part 1, we explored the search for the meaning of life and discovered that the answers we are looking for cannot be found in this world alone. The meaning of life begins and ends with God, and it can be summarized in one word: love.
Everything in life flows from this one attribute. When we live a life rooted in love, we gain clarity about our purpose, our identity, and God’s plans for our lives.

Jesus made this clear when He was asked about the greatest commandment:
“For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”— Matthew 6:14–15

This scripture reveals why so many people—including celebrities and the world at large—continue searching for the meaning of life. As discussed in Part 1, the search is prompted by an emptiness in the soul. That emptiness is not success, money, or recognition—it is the absence of love rooted in God.

The Bible tells us that we were created in the image of God (Genesis 1:26). And also reminds us in 1 John 4:8 that “whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”

Being created in God’s image means that every person is born with the capacity for love because love is part of God’s nature. We were designed to live in relationship—with God first, and then with others.

When we believe that love is absent from our lives, insecurity begins to take root. We struggle with self-worth, identity, and value. These struggles often surface in our relationships, finances, work environments, and even our spiritual walk.

The enemy (satan) uses wounds, rejection, and disappointment to distort our understanding of love. But God’s answer is not condemnation—it is healing, restoration, and truth.

To overcome the effects of living without love, we must be willing to take intentional steps toward healing:

Acknowledge your hurt. Healing begins when we stop denying the pain and bring it honestly before God.

Seek God’s healing. God is not distant from our broken places. He is close to the wounded and restores the heart that is surrendered to Him.

Refuse the victim mindset. Our past experiences do not define us. Through Christ, we are an overcomer, not a victim.

Believe your value to God. Our worth is not based on what happened to us or what others said about us. We are deeply loved, chosen, and valuable to God.

Living in love and forgiveness is not optional—it is central to the meaning of life. When we receive God’s love and allow it to heal us, we are then empowered to extend that love to others.
>This is where purpose is found.
>This is where freedom begins.
>This is God’s answer to the meaning of life.

If this message has stirred something in your heart, you don't have to walk this journey alone. We invite you to join our ALIVE Community Workshops, a safe and faith-filled space where women come together to grow, heal, and discover their identity and purpose in Christ.

Several years ago, while watching the news, a newscaster made what I thought was an incredible announcement about a well-known celebrity. The celebrity stated, “I’m going to take a year off from all my duties and travel the world to discover the meaning of life.”

He did exactly that—he traveled the world for a year. Yet, upon his return, he never revealed what he discovered. This leaves us with an important question:

Did he find the meaning of life, or did he realize that this world does not hold the answer he was seeking?

To discover the meaning of life, one doesn’t have to travel very far—except to a bookstore. We need the Bible!

The Bible is God’s blueprint for understanding the meaning of life and how to live victoriously here on earth. From the very beginning, starting with the book of Genesis, we see God’s original intent for mankind laid out clearly.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” — Genesis 1:1

Life did not begin with us—it began with God. And until we return to Him, life will never fully make sense.

Within the pages of Scripture, we learn:
  • The importance of family
  • How to manage money
  • How to renew our minds from negative thinking
  • The power and importance of love
  • The reality of eternal life
  • God’s judgment against sin
  • The destructive nature of sin
  • Why many choose the wrong path
  • The rewards of choosing the right path
  • God’s love and provision for His creation
  • That we are created with inherent gifts and abilities
  • Our God-given purpose
  • How to handle conflict

The above list is only a small glimpse of what is contained in God’s Word—yet it is enough to remind us that we cannot successfully live this life without Him.

Although the Bible remains the number one best-selling book in the world—and is sought after even in countries where it is prohibited—many still miss two key ingredients found throughout its pages.

The answer the celebrity was searching for, and the answer mankind continues to seek, is found in Scripture: love and forgiveness.

  • This is where true reset begins.
  • This is where real transformation starts.
  • This is how we restart life God’s way.

Reflection Questions: The Meaning of Life – Part 1
 1. Have you ever searched for meaning in places other than God (relationships, success, travel, possessions, approval)? What did you discover?

 2. When you hear the phrase “the meaning of life,” what comes to mind right now? How has that definition changed over time?

3. Genesis 1:1 reminds us that life begins with God. In what ways have you tried to build your life without fully including Him?

4. Which area of your life currently needs a reset—your thoughts, relationships, finances, or purpose?

5. As you reflect on the list of what the Bible teaches, which topic stands out to you the most and why?

Are You Ready For A Rewrite....

This past weekend, my grandson moved into his first home. He was excited—this was the beginning of a brand-new chapter in his life.

Several of us gathered at his newly rented house to help him move in and clean. With mops, brooms, buckets, and water in hand, we got to work. One of our tasks was cleaning the kitchen cabinets—dust, crumbs, and residue from previous months had to be washed away. Once they were clean, we lined them with fresh shelf liner.

After everything was finished, we blessed his new home—room by room—praying for God’s peace, protection, and guidance over my grandson and this new chapter of his life.

Later that night, as I lay in bed reminiscing about the day, my thoughts returned to those kitchen cabinets.

I realized two things:
 • My grandson was beginning a new chapter.
• Just as those cabinets needed to be cleaned and relined, so do our minds.

Many of us are carrying the residue of old chapters—negative thinking, disappointment, fear, and defeat. Over time, those thoughts settle in and hold us back from stepping fully into what God has next.

Georgetta,, that is not the life God desires for you.

He already sees you as His victorious daughter. He wants to help you clean out the old, reline your thinking with His truth, and rewrite the chapters of your life—walking confidently in your purpose.

Today can be the day you say yes to a new chapter. You were created for more.
 • More peace.
• More joy.
• More love.
• More rest.

Confidence In....

1/13/2026

Picture
I awoke this morning with the word “confidence” heavy upon my mind! I asked the LORD “what do I need to learn from this word?” I was instructed by Him to look up the definition. It read as follows: “the feeling or belief that one can rely on someone or something; firm trust.; or feeling secure of yourself and abilities.”

After reading the definition of “confidence” I realized that the LORD was taking me down memory lane. He reminded me that, there was a time in my life that I lacked confidence. Yes, I know that’s hard to believe about me! But, truth be told, I struggled many years with lack of confidence in myself and in the LORD.

During my single parenting years, I lived life worrying about everything including the inability of being able to support myself and my children. As a result, my lack of confidence and living an unfulfilled life, I found myself shopping. I started out purchasing little ticketed items. Then I discovered the home shopping channel, which became an addiction and credit card debt so followed.

My journey to shopping, I learned during my healing process, was to feed a void in my hurting soul. My feelings of being unlovable was the root cause of my lack of confidence.  Instead of turning to the LORD for comfort and help, I turned to shopping, which put me into debt and more worry. The confidence I needed then and now is found only in the LORD.

I learned that searching for things or someone else to fill the emptiness I felt inside was not the answer. It was only a temporary feeling of “manufactured love.”

The LORD showed me how to get out of debt and how to rewrite my story! My story is now one of contentment and confidence in the LORD.

Why did the LORD take me down memory lane with something He healed me from? So that I could help other women who are going through the struggles I experienced.

I would love for you to learn how to rewrite your story also. Using God’s Biblical principles, and our ALIVE Reset and Restart Journal, you too will discover peace and contentment and how to rewrite your story for one of fulfillment.

When Love Feels Out of Reach: Restoring Your Identity in Christ

12/21/2025

Picture
The Lord has appeared of old to me, saying: ‘Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.’ — Jeremiah 31:3 (NKJV)

There was a time in my life when I questioned if I was truly loved. I smiled on the outside but carried silent wounds on the inside — feeling unworthy, invisible, and never enough. That emptiness created a cycle of overwhelm, anxiety, and loss of identity.

But God gently reminded me: “You are loved because I made you. You are chosen because I called you. You are valuable because you are Mine.”

When a woman doesn’t feel loved, she loses sight of who she is. But when she begins to see herself through God’s eyes of love, everything changes.

Five Steps to Healing When You Feel Unloved
1. Recognize the Root of the Lie: Many women feel unloved because of rejection, abandonment, or unhealed trauma. The enemy uses those experiences to whisper, “You’re not enough.”

Truth: You are enough because God created you in His image (Genesis 1:27).
Reflection: What event or voice made you doubt your worth? Ask God to reveal and heal it.

2. Reconnect with God’s Unchanging Love: Feelings change, but God’s love never does. Spend time daily reminding yourself of His love through Scripture and worship. Romans 8:38–39 – Nothing can separate us from His love.

Reflection: Write three Scriptures about God’s love on sticky notes and place them where you’ll see them daily.

3. Restore Your True Identity: When you know who you are in Christ, feelings of being unloved begin to lose power.

Identity Truths:

  • I am chosen (Ephesians 1:4)
  • I am accepted (Romans 15:7)
  • I am deeply loved (Ephesians 3:17–19)

Reflection: Which of these truths do you struggle to believe? Ask the Holy Spirit to renew your mind.

4. Release the Need for Human Validation: Sometimes we look for love in people who cannot give what only God can supply. Healing begins when we shift our focus from proving our worth to resting in God’s approval. (Galatians 1:10 – We live to please God, not people.)

Healing Practice: Spend quiet moments in prayer or journaling, thanking God for His unconditional acceptance.

5. Rebuild a Life Rooted in Love: Once we embrace God’s love, we can love others freely — without fear of rejection. (1 John 4:18 – Perfect love casts out fear.)

Action Step: Each day, practice one loving act toward yourself or another person — a kind word, a moment of rest, a prayer for someone else.
{First Name} your worth is not determined by how others treat you, but by God who created you. You are loved beyond measure, seen, and chosen for purpose.

Take time this week to sit quietly before the Lord and let His love wash over the parts of you that still feel unworthy. Remember: you don’t have to earn His love — just receive it.

Shop Till You Drop...

12/21/2025

Picture
Years ago, my sisters and I used to call women we thought had a shopping problem “the shop-till-you-drop girls.”

What I didn’t know then, I know now.

Those “shop-till-you-drop girls" were often shopping impulsively—not out of greed—but because of emotional instability. They were shopping to ease the pain of fear, loneliness, and unhealed wounds.

How do I know this?

Because I became one of them!

After surviving an abusive marriage, walking through divorce, and becoming a single parent, I carried deep fears, self-doubt, anger, betrayal, and overwhelming feelings of being unloved. If there was an emotion, I felt it.

I found myself in financial trouble due to impulsive buying—trying to silence the pain and fear. I didn’t feel worthy. I didn’t feel lovable. I didn’t believe God loved me. I withdrew from others, believing love and healthy friendships weren’t meant for me.
But everything changed when I learned the truth about God’s love.

✨It was God’s love that filled the void in my heart. It was God’s love that broke the cycle of impulsive buying.
✨It was God’s love that healed my emotional instability.
✨It was God’s love that taught me how to love others with agape love.
✨ I learned that my identity and worth are found only in God, my Creator.
✨ I learned that life’s struggles do not define me.
✨ I learned that material things are temporary, but God’s love is constant.

Today, I am a committed Daughter of God, called to coach women as they discover their self-worth and embrace their identity in Christ.

If you see yourself in the “shop-till-you-drop girl,” I invite you to join the ALIVE Community.

Inside, you will learn:
✨ How to experience God’s love in a personal way
✨ How to renew your mind
✨ How to walk in true contentment
✨ How to grow in community with like-minded women

Trusting God

Has there ever been a time in your life that you suffered through disappointment and discouragement or are you feeling this way now?  We learn from the Word of God of a nameless woman, known only as the wife of Manoah who knew many years of disappointment and discouragement. She lived during a time period in which women were considered cursed if they didn’t have children.  Well, this was the case of the wife of Manoah. We aren’t told how many years she was childless. Holy Spirit only reveals – “that she was barren.”  Let’s review the wife of Manoah’s story to discover how God resolved her disappointment and discouragement! God can make alive what we believe to be dead! God can save our children! God can change our disappointments and discouragement into joy and victory!

Judges 13:3 “And the angel of the Lord appeared unto the woman, and said unto her, Behold now, thou art barren, and bearest not: but thou shalt conceive, and bear a son.”

Holy Spirit does not give us the name of Samson’s mother, He gently calls her the “wife of Manoah” (Judges 13:2).  Like Sarah, the wife of Manoah was barren, but she knew God and God knew her heart.  God knew that the wife of Manoah could be trusted to follow His instructions in raising the “next judge” for Israel.

God sent an angel to tell the news to the wife of Manoah that He knew she was barren and that He was going to bless her with a child—a man child at that.  Just imagine, being barren for so long, then to be told you will give birth to a child.  The angel gives her instructions from God to remain pure during the pregnancy by not drinking strong drink and to stay away from unclean foods (Judges 13:4).  The angel of the Lord continued by prophetically telling her the child’s future “For, lo, thou shalt conceive, and bear a son; and no razor shall come on his head: for the child shall be a Nazarite unto God from the womb: and he shall begin to deliver Israel out of the hand of the Philistines” (Judges 13:5).  The wife of Manoah did conceive and gave birth to a son as the angel said, and she named him Samson.
Just as the angel prophetically spoke, Samson was a special servant of the Lord, who was extremely strong physically and lead Israel for 20 years before his death.

The wife of Manoah was not a socialite or a celebrity in her community, she was a woman who loved and worshipped the Lord.  She was chosen by God to be the mother of an extraordinary leader because of her love and commitment to God.

God is still choosing woman of today!  There are mothers who are not in the limelight, but raise their children the way God instructs them.  Do you have a heart for the things of God!  Can God trust you to be obedient when asked by Him to raise your children with godly principles?  A mother’s job can be difficult at times, especially in today’s culture, but if mothers remain faithful and “train up their children the way to go, and they will not depart,” God will be there every step of the way to help them.  One day, your children will rise up and call you blessed.  My friends, trust God to do something extraordinary in your life, the rewards are great when living our lives God’s way and not the way of the world!

No More Excuses...

“And a certain man was there, which had an infirmity thirty and eight years. When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?  The impotent man answered him, Sir, I have no man, when the water is troubled, to put me into the pool: but while I am coming, another steppeth down before me.  Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk.  And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: and on the same day was the sabbath….Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, behold thou are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.” (John 5:5-9; 14)

Have you ever heard about a remedy that can help you medically or spiritually, but made excuses as to why it won’t help your condition? Well, this is what John 5:5-9 is about! It’s about a man wounded with hopelessness and all he had left in him were “excuses.”

We learn from these scriptures that a man with an infirmity of 38 years was laying by a certain pool.  When Jesus saw this man, He asked him an unusual question?  “Wilt thou be made whole?” In other words, “Do you want to be healed?” The impotent man immediately came up with excuses as to why he couldn’t be made whole (healed).  Jesus responded to the impotent man saying “Rise, take up thy bed, and walk,” immediately the man was made whole (healed).  Jesus knew the condition of the man’s soul, and that his excuses were from many years of hurt, disappointment and rejection.

Many will read these scriptures and criticize the impotent man, for making excuses, but how many of us do the same thing “make excuses when we can be made whole?”  We too experience hurts in our lives that cause us to make excuses because it’s very easy to make excuses when we operate from the “spirit of fear, doubt or hopelessness!” Let’s take a moment to examine the impotent man’s life and attitude!
  • He had this particular infirmity for 38 years.
  • It appears the man was paralyzed.
  • He had been poor for some time, laying on his bed.
  • His thoughts were those of hopelessness.
  • He was depending on men to help him.
  • His excuses were from his feelings of rejection.
  • He said others were getting healed, but not me (pity)!

Jesus looked into the man’s heart and saw his spirit of hopelessness and rejection! This man’s physical infirmity wasn’t the problem, it was his spiritual infirmity that was the problem.  Jesus was this man's “Hope!”
Jesus healed the man’s physical need, but then we read in verse 14 that Jesus found the man in the temple.  Jesus was now about to address the man’s need for spiritual healing.  He tells the man “behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.”

We are not told what the sin was, but we now know that it was sin that caused the physical infirmity.  What is more interesting in verse 14 is that Jesus found the man in the temple! Was he there to offer a sacrifice for his sin? Was he there to worship God and to thank Him for his healing? We are not told the reason for the man being in the temple; but we can be sure of one thing - Jesus offered the man spiritual healing!

A person with a wounded soul left in an unhealthy condition is more serious than a physical infirmity.  Matthew 18:8 states “Wherefore if thy hand or foot offend thee, cut them off, and cast them from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life halt or maimed, rather than having two hands or two feet to be cast into everlasting fire.” A wounded soul leads to sin if not healed, and continued unrepented sin leads to eternal damnation.

What condition is your soul? Are you making excuses for why your soul isn’t healed?  I did!  When Holy Spirit convicted me of certain character flaws in my heart, I made excuses.  Each time He told me to surrender those character flaws, I would say, “that’s not me, you have me mixed up with someone else.” Can you imagine telling that to Holy Spirit!  I denied the fact that I had a wounded soul for six months until finally Holy Spirit showed me experientially my faults.

Whatever you are wrestling with in your soul, ask Holy Spirit for help and surrender that hurt for healing, don’t delay. Excuses keeps up bound in our hurts!  Friends, Father God is more interested in our soul being healed than our physically healing, because the issues of our life, flow from our hearts.

In your journal:
  • List the character flaws you have that need healing:  anger, jealousy, bitterness, bad habits, etc.
  • Write the advantage or disadvantage for hanging onto these character flaws.
  • Write how these character flaws have hurt you and others.

Today & Everyday Proclaim:
  • Today I choose to submit to Father God.
  • Father God, thank you for a sound mind. I refuse to allow my mind to control me.
  • Today I allow Holy Spirit to do spiritual surgery in my heart.
  • Father God, I thank You for the longsuffering you have with me.

The Word of God has the power to transform and heal anyone who puts his/her trust in Father God for healing.

Examples of Affirmations:
  • I am chosen by God. I will rule and reign with Him.
  • I will fear not, the LORD is my refuge and strong tower.
  • I am rooted and grounded in God’s love.
  • The blessings of God are upon me!
  • The Word of God is life and guides me in this life.

Millions and millions of dollars are spent yearly with men and women purchasing over the counter cosmetics and seeking plastic surgery for an outward transformation of their bodies. They are seeking a new look and a better body! These individuals suffer from a poor self-image believing cosmetics or surgery will make them into a new person.

However, we learn from God’s Word, for a true transformation it is our hearts that needs restored and our minds need renewed.  Proverbs 23:7 shares with us that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he:” What we read here is that our thoughts influence our hearts.  In other words, where the mind goes, the heart soon follows.

In one of our group “alive” Community sessions, a participant shared she didn’t like her looks and was thinking of cosmetic surgery.  She said, “I tried all those miracle creams but they didn’t work, so my only option is surgery.” Her thoughts generated a poor image of herself and her heart believed the lie.  I showed her in the Bible the way God sees her – beautiful.  First Peter 3:4 tells us that beauty is the “hidden person of the heart, with a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God.” Also, in 1 Samuel 16:7 God says “don’t look at man’s appearance….for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”  True transformation is an inward process, it’s the healing of a wounded soul.

This woman already had wonderful spirit (heart), loving to help others and being the first the first to volunteer.  But, as we continued with our group session, she shared that she was verbally abused growing up.  This verbal abuse left her believing she could never fit-in with others because she wasn’t beautiful and was a failure.

God created something beautiful in each of us.  We discover our beauty when we surrender our brokenness to God allowing Him to renew our minds in His word.  Don’t you want to know your unique purpose in life?  Friends, God has a great future for us, so we need stop allowing our negative thoughts to influence our hearts!

The participant in our “alive” Community session, chose to forego surgery. She chose to believe in God’s word for healing of our wounded soul. She has learned to love herself and embrace the beautiful person God created her to be.

As my participant did, we need to stop giving the enemy (satan) illegal residence in our minds.  We are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are loved greatly by Father God and He offers forgiveness to all who will accept His gift of salvation.  The choice is ours to make, God will not force anyone who doesn’t want to live a life of victory and abundance.  Choose life my friends! The rewards and benefits are awesome!

We All Fall Short

"for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, (Romans 3:23))

I had a group lifestyle coaching session awhile back when a client state, “I don’t believe God could ever love me because I keep repeating the same sins.” She confessed her sins were the character flaws of gossiping and being judgmental toward others.

She stated that when her character flaws were brought to her attention by others, she would ask God for forgiveness.  But, she found herself repeating the same cycle over and over again. She was feeling guilty because she had asked God to forgive her, but she didn’t know how to stop sinning. She didn’t know how to break the cycle!

What has occurred with this client is not uncommon! Romans 3:23 tells us: "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." We all will miss the mark until we know the truth, which will set us free.

Everyone comes to God the same way, broken from their past. My client was producing "bad fruit" from wounds of her past and needed to learn how to be set free from her old ways and bad habits.

When we sin, Psalms 51:3-4 tells us, we are sinning against God, our Creator. That is why my client was feeling the conviction in her spirit and sought help to get rid of the guilt.

With our lifestyle coaching program, we identified the root cause of her bad fruit. She surrendered it to Father God and she no longer engages in gossip and has stopped judging others.  She stated, "I am finally free from hurting others with my mouth, and I truly know now I am forgiven!" She is currently rebuilding relationships by asking those whom she hurt for forgiveness.

My client now understands Romans 8:1 and doesn't live a life of guilt believing God doesn't love her. She now knows in her mind and heart God does loves her!

Thoughts, Thoughts, and More Thoughts

When you hear the word "killer" your first instinctive thought is someone who kills another with a weapon of some sort.  While that thought is correct, there is another "killer" that is just as deadly, this is an enemy that target’s anyone regardless of age, race or culture. This “killer” is called depression. This is an enemy that kills your quality of life by:

  • killing your dreams,
  • killing your hopes,
  • killing your relationships and
  • killing your compacity to participate in life.

I know all this to be true because I suffered many years from depression. My depression began when I was about 14 years old.  It started with negative thinking about myself, which was generated from verbal abuse from peers and family members.  It wasn't until my 30's when I learned if we don't deal with our thoughts, we sink deeper and deeper into what I call a "dark tunnel." The longer I stayed in that dark tunnel, depression crept in unawares, and it became difficult to shake off.

Through the word of God, I learned when I change my thought life, it will change my life. I had to renew my old mindset to a new mindset.  My negative thinking was keeping me a prisoner in my mind.

The Lord, took me through seven Biblical principles that was life changing. These principles taught me how to live a victorious and abundant life in Christ. Does this mean I will never Hanover another trial or adversary. No! It means I learned how to handle tough situations with a Christ-like mindset.  Those negative thoughts no longer had control of my mind and life. My life was renewed and I learned the importance of living my dreams instead of just dreaming about them. We were created by God to enjoy the life He had blessed us with.

Can you relate to my testimony? At our "alive" Community we coach our members with Seven Biblical Principles. These principles will teach you how to change your thoughts and embrace your dreams to live a fulfilled life. Using our proven Seven Biblical principles you will learn to:
affirm yourself in God's Word.
learn to take responsibility for your thoughts.
invest in self-care & learn to love self.
verify God's truth for a renewed mind.
embrace your dreams for a fulfilled life.

Feeling Alive

How are our enjoying your life? What makes you feel “alive” every morning? Is your life one of fulfillment or dread?

Many years ago, I was faced with these same questions of transparency. What makes me alive? Why do I get out of bed each day?  Is it my family, my spouse, my kids, my job, having a good time with friends, what? What motivates you arise each day? What gives you fulfillment in life” What…is the question?

Many years ago, I found myself drifting through life stuck in the gear of park! Thinking life was passing me by.  I hadn’t experienced any of my dreams. I didn’t like the person I had become.  I needed change!  Are you experiencing being stuck in the gear of park?  Many tell me the world’s a terrible place to live. Yes, I know we live in a fallen world and don't want to listen to the news, but that shouldn’t stop us from living life to its fullest.  Yes, we have all experienced many heartbreaks in life, experienced abuse from loved ones or friends, but we can still live life to its fullest without regrets.

When I read following scripture and understood what it meant, my live changed drastically.

Picture
Jesus came to give life to those who felt hopelessly stuck in the gear of park.  He came to heal the emotionally wounded soul. This scripture inspired me to allow the Word of God to transform my mind.  I began to enjoy the little things in life.  I started writing goals and planned those goals out with action steps to bring them to life.  I learned our mind can cause us to enjoy life or to dread life.  What we think in our mind, we bring it about in our actions, which controls our way of living.  Healing begins with our mind. We have hope, and that hope comes from Jesus. He wants to help us by renewing our minds from the dread of negative thinking to that of hope. He wants us to live a victoriously, abundant in Him.

Are you ready to begin your journey to healing? It begins one thought at a time. Using the truth of God's Word, we can destroy all the lies the enemy Satan has planted in our minds. Lies such as:

  • I will never amount to anything.”  The truth, “I can do all things in Christ Jesus.”
  • I will always struggle financially. The truth! “My God will supply all my needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
  • No one will ever love me. The truth! “My God loves me with an everlasting love.”

Whatever lies are roaming in your mind, God's Word can destroy it.  Remember, the lies we think and believe are what we become. You are not those lies! Father God created you with great potential and purpose. You are "alive" in Christ Jesus! You awake each morning because of His great love and mercy for you, and all of His children. Jesus demonstrated His love for us by redeeming us on the Cross.

Today, I challenge you to be intentional about changing your thoughts from negative thinking to that of having a Christ-like mindset. Invite Jesus to help you to change your thinking and to guard your mind with positive thoughts.  We can begin with Philippians 4:8 - "Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

Changing your thoughts, changes your life!

Decision-Making tips

Written by Georgetta Head
Do you have difficulty making decisions? This is an action that is very difficult for many to make! I can relate because it is very challenging! I've been there many times until I learned key principles from the Bible that taught me how to control my emotions when making decisions.

As a single parent years ago, I learned the devastation of bad choices with my finances. Not seeking Father God first caused me several years of unwanted credit card debt. Plus, I learned experientially, our decisions, good or bad, have consequences!

Decision-making has to do with a gift God gives to each of us called "free-will" or "volition." This is the ability to think and act with maturity and wisdom for ourselves and when necessary for our immediate family.

Making decisions can be difficult at times because our emotions get involved, which influences us in the direction to take. Because our emotions tend to be fickle, one day we are happy, the next day sad or angry. When our emotions are on an up and down spiral, it would be wise not to make any decisions. Instead, we should table any decision-making until we can manage our emotional ups and downs.

Tips for wise decision-making is found in  two powerful verses.  Proverbs 16:3 "Commit thy works unto the LORD, And thy thoughts shall be established."

Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.

• The wisest decision one can make when making deisions is to seek God's advice first.

• Don't allow negative thinking to influence your decision-making. With negative thinking, we will produce emotions that will produce negative actions.

• Finally, don't allow anxiety to pressure you into making decisions you will regret.  Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us to "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

When we put our trust in Father God and wait on Him, He will direct our steps for good. Most importantly, His peace will guard our hearts and minds, which will guide us with  prosperous choices.

God Proves His Love

Written by Georgetta Head
But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

During my coaching career, I’ve had many people tell me that they didn’t think God would love them because of the sins they have committed. Armed with this untruth in their minds, they drifted into a life of shame and guilt. Romans 5:8 reveals a different story.  Let’s study this scripture for the truth.  The word “commendeth” in this verse is an interesting word that means:  to commit; entrust; make acceptable; proves; or demonstrates.
Using the definition of “proves” for “commendeth,” the phrase now reads: “But God proves His love toward us…” Have you ever been in a position in which you had to prove your love or actions to someone?  Well, this is exactly what Father God did for us.  He loving His creation, He proved it to us by sending His only Son, Jesus, to die for us while we were still sinners!  Now that’s love!  Would you prove your love for someone by dying for them?  To what extent will you go to prove your love?

God didn’t wait for us to be rid of our sins! He knew we would never be able to resolve our sin problem. So, He proves His love toward us with the answer for our sin problem, Jesus!  While we were deep in our sins, He died on a cross taking all our sins on Himself, becoming our scape goat, forgiving us for every sin we ever committed.  Jesus became our “propitiation” for the sins of the world (Hebrews 2:17). Thank God for the finished work of what Jesus did on the Cross, otherwise all would be eternally loss.

So, now I ask, “what sin will God not forgive anyone for?” God says we have all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.  But, friends, please know that all who come to God for salvation through Jesus, are freely justified by God’s “grace” (unmerited favor) through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.  The next time you or anyone you know, begin to believe God can never forgive any sin committed, know that is satan lying to you and doesn’t want you to know the truth of God’s “grace.” Remember, you are “greatly loved.”
