 This past weekend, my grandson moved into his first home. He was excited—this was the beginning of a brand-new chapter in his life.
Several of us gathered at his newly rented house to help him move in and clean. With mops, brooms, buckets, and water in hand, we got to work. One of our tasks was cleaning the kitchen cabinets—dust, crumbs, and residue from previous months had to be washed away. Once they were clean, we lined them with fresh shelf liner. After everything was finished, we blessed his new home—room by room—praying for God’s peace, protection, and guidance over my grandson and this new chapter of his life. Later that night, as I lay in bed reminiscing about the day, my thoughts returned to those kitchen cabinets. I realized two things: • My grandson was beginning a new chapter. • Just as those cabinets needed to be cleaned and relined, so do our minds. Many of us are carrying the residue of old chapters—negative thinking, disappointment, fear, and defeat.
