Know Your Identity and Know Whose You Are

One of the most important assets we have is knowing our identity. Our identity shapes who we are, what we believe and who we will follow. 
 
Satan, the enemy of our soul, knows this extremely important knowledge and how it affects individuals who do not know their identity.  He knows the confusion and conflicts that will arise to destroy a person's wellbeing and thought life.
 
Our identity begins at the day of conception - and that's when Satan devises his evil plots to steal our identity, purpose and peace of mind.
 
Satan's first evil act began in the garden of Eden. Adam and Eve had a relationship with God. They walked and talked with Him in the Garden of Eden. They knew their identity and lived in peace and innocence. 
 
Walk in Hebrew symbolizes our lifestyle and culture: in biblical definition, "walking" is frequently used metaphorically for how a person conducts their life, behaves, or follows a set of teachings.
 
That is why our identity matters so much.
 
When Adam and Eve knew who they were and whose they were, they walked with God in peace. But the enemy came with a question designed to create doubt: “Did God really say…?”

Satan attacked their identity by challenging what God had already spoken. And he still uses that same strategy today.

• He whispers, 
• You’re not enough. 
• You’ve gone too far. 
• You missed your opportunity.
• You’re too old. 
• You’re too broken. 
• You don’t matter. 
• God can’t use you.

 
But those are not the words of your Creator. Your identity is not determined by your past, your mistakes, your circumstances, your failures, or the opinions of other people. Your identity is established by God.

• You are His creation.
• You are loved.
• You are chosen.
• You are valuable.
• You have purpose.
• And your story is not over.

 
The enemy wants you confused about who you are because he understands that a woman who knows her identity:

• She will begin to walk differently.
• She will think differently.
• She will speak differently.
• She will make different choices.
• She will stop allowing people to define her.
• She will stop agreeing with the lies of the enemy.
• She will begin walking confidently in what God has spoken over her life.

 
So today, ask yourself: Who am I allowing to define me—God, my past, people, or the enemy?
 
Because when you know whose you are, you can finally begin to live from who you are.
 
 Know your identity. Renew your mind. Walk in your purpose.
 
God isn't finished with you yet!
There is still purpose in your life, and there is still a story to be rewritten and lived.
