He Looked Beyond My Faults

I thank God continually that He is rich in mercy and for giving me many second chances.  Why? Because, as I go through this journey in this world, it’s very easy to forget who sustains me along the way.

We all have faults, make bad decisions, do things that cause people to be offended or become offended ourselves. The thing that we must keep in mnid is the fact that we all came from Adam (Genesis 1-3).  Adam was created with a free will to make his own decisions as the first man on earth.  As a result of his bad decisions, we all became a part of his sinful nature along with faults.

My statement does not mean it’s one of a judgmental state, nor does it justify sin, it’s only to point out the fact that we are all born in sin because of the fall and disobedience of Adam, and the fault came along as a package deal.
We all have a lot to be thankful for, the fact that Jesus came to our rescue and took our place in order to keep us from eternal damnation (separated from God in hell forever). These facts should cause us to walk humbly with our attitude on low volume, judgmental spirits, self-righteous actions toward each other.  We all carry the label “born with faults and sins.”

Romans 3:22-12 tells that: “even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: for all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.”  There have been ministers of Christ who have, with faults, fail in the pulpit many years ago, repented and been restored with God’s anointing, yet some say “I will not hear them preach anymore.” We must be very careful lest we walk in unforgiveness. If God has forgiven them and restored them, who are we to hold it over their head? We might as well shut our Bibles and not read about Abraham, David, Paul, or Peter, along with others who sinned and had faults.

The justification and restoration of one who has failed is up to God and is a heart matter from each individual. God examines our heart and what’s in our heart we can’t hide from Him.  God is the righteous judge (Psalm 139:1-24). We all need our spiritual heart checkup by God and leave the rest to God, faults and all.  I love the song written by Dottie Rambo titled: “He Looked Beyond My Faults” read some of the lyrics below:
Amazing grace shall always be my song of praise
For it was Grace that brought my liberty
I’ll never know just why He came to love me so
He looked beyond my faults and saw all my needs
I shall forever lift my eyes to calvary
To view the Cross where Jesus died for me
And how marvelous the Grace that caught my falling soul
He looked beyond my faults and saw all needs
This song tells all our story about “faults” because “God loves us so much that He looks past what we have done and forgives us when we come with a sincere heart.”
